Reiki is a healing modality that came to the USA by way of Hawaii and Japan. Its benefits may include relaxation, easing muscle tension and stress reduction. It is becoming widely used in many hospitals, veterinarian’s offices, nursing homes and hospice care centers worldwide. There are two levels of basic training (referred to as “First Degree” and “Second Degree”), one Master level and a Master/Teacher level. Once a practitioner is attuned to the Reiki energy they act as a conduit for the healing energy to pass through them to the client. The practitioner does not give their clients their energy, it is the simply the endless supply of universal life force energy surrounding all of us that is the source of this energy.
I personally utilize Reiki every day in a self-treatment several times a day and find it to be an essential tool that keeps my energetic system in balance.
